Under the wave of the transformation of China into a sci-tech powerhouse, Duolun Technology has always sought growth with innovation and shouldered the mission of autonomy and controllability, injecting strong momentum into the field of smart driving tests. On May 30, 2025, Jiahong, the next-generation domestic HarmonyOS-based driving test system independently developed by Duolun Technology, was officially applied in Jinan, marking the successful launch of China’s first purely domestic HarmonyOS-based driving test system.
With breakthroughs in localization, constructing an autonomous and controllable ecosystem
The HarmonyOS-based driving test system signifies a significant achievement of Duolun Technology in response to the national call for self-reliance and strength in science and technology. The system deeply integrates core technologies, including a purely domestic positioning chip, a self-developed video analysis algorithm, and a facial recognition algorithm, achieving 100% coverage by homemade technologies from the underlying architecture to the upper-level application. The autonomous and controllable technical system enables full autonomy and controllability throughout the entire process of test data storage, transmission and application, thus building a firm "data security defense line" for traffic safety management.
From the perspective of hardware, Jiahong, though tiny, carries a huge amount of energy. Compared with traditional devices, the new terminal is 40% smaller in volume and 60% higher in integration level, which not only saves interior space, but also significantly reduces maintenance costs through modular design.
Technological upgrade pushes the driving test experience to a new level
Performance Enhancement: Stable and Smooth "Chinese Speed"
“After a period of debugging, we find that this driving test system runs more stably, has smoother signals, is easier to operate and provides safer data”, said Chen Geng, deputy chief of the Examination Section of the Vehicle Management Office under the Traffic Police Brigade of the Nanjing Municipal Public Security Bureau. In this context, the smooth system has greatly improved the driving test efficiency. “Following the switch to the HarmonyOS-based driving test system, each test vehicle can complete tests for approximately 50% more candidates every day on average”, added Chen.
Experience Improvement: Smooth Transition of “Intelligent Interaction”
Duolun Technology persists in “putting candidates first” in terms of interaction design, in a bid to reduce the cost of system migration. With unified interface design and optimized operation logic, candidates can complete tests without having to re-adapt to the process. When giving feedback on experience, Yan Yong, head of Jinan Zhongjian Driving School, noted that the system seamlessly connects to the original process from instruction recognition to action evaluation, facilitating a smooth transition of “technological upgrade, unchanged experience”.
Security Reinforcement: Solid Data Protection
As far as data security is concerned, Duolun Technology established a “three-layer protection system” that encrypts and stores the candidate information through algorithms to avoid data leakage, makes test records immutable with the use of blockchain technology to ensure traceable evaluation results, and builds upon the distributed security architecture of HarmonyOS to provide technical support for the fairness of the driving test. During the testing period, the system completed test evaluations for 7,000-plus candidates, winning dual recognition from regulators and candidates.
Science and technology pave the way to build China into a strong nation
In the project preparation stage, the Vehicle Management Office under the Traffic Police Brigade of the Jinan Municipal Public Security Bureau partnered with the company’s technical team to establish a joint team that conducted in-depth research according to the local road conditions and test process demand. The precise resetting of 35 test vehicles and over 700 signal points, along with 1,200 actual measurements on 3 test routes and 48 projects, ultimately created a deep match between the system and the local driving test scenarios.
The closed-loop model of “demand orientation + technology application” offers a replicable reference for the rapid promotion of the domestic card addition system. Duolun Technology, which started from Jinan, promotes the HarmonyOS-based driving test system nationwide. In the meantime, the company teamed up with more urban traffic management authorities to develop full-process domestic driving test solutions covering all four subjects (from Subject 1 to Subject 4).
Looking forward, Duolun Technology will continuously uphold the philosophy of “innovation-driven development”, step up its presence in the smart transportation sector, and technologically empower people’s livelihood and pave the way to build China into a strong nation with innovation, aiming to contribute more wisdom and strength to a “digital China”.
